US Junior Soaring is part of the Soaring Society of America’s Youth Committee. ItsĀ purpose is to foster theĀ development of pilots under 26 and offer them resources to earn new ratings and develop cross country experience while transitioning them to “soaring adulthood”.
Particularly in the Unites States, soaring is plagued with an aging population of pilots. Fortunately, there remains an active corps of excited, dedicated youth that has caught the “aviation bug.” These individuals face many challenges–learning to fly can be difficult, particularly when surrounded by a world of much-older pilots.
The purpose of this website is to unite US juniors that are passionate about soaring. We hope to capture stories, organize skills clinics, provide a framework of support, and develop a community of like-minded youth. Furthermore, the accomplishments and insights of these people will be shared here.
